The Village of Posen uses the CodeRED by Crisis24 emergency notification system for emergency messages and the distribution of information considered to be important.

What is CodeRED?
CodeRED by Crisis24 is a notification system that can help keep you and your family safe in the event of an emergency. Alerts are sent by the Village of Posen by telephone, cell phone, SMS, email, and more.

When Will You Be Notified?
CodeRED will be used for emergency situations or to share important information. Floods, criminal activity, evacuation, missing persons are just a few examples of the types of alerts you might receive.

What You Need to Know:

  • Alerts are location-based. You’ll only get alerts if you’re in the affected area – no spam, just relevant info.
  • You choose what you get. Pick the types of alerts you want – from community news to emergency warnings.
  • Only trusted officials send alerts. Messages come directly from authorized local public safety teams.
  • The mobile app is free. Download the CodeRED app from the App Store or Google Play.
  • Turn on GPS for real-time alerts. The app can send alerts based on your exact location wherever you go.

Did you know it’s free to register for CodeRED?
It’s an important yet easy step that helps ensure your family remains informed and prepared for any emergencies in your area. Although the CodeRED system starts with a public database for calling, no one should automatically assume his or her phone number is included. If your contact information is not in the database — or outdated — you will not receive alerts.

What do I have to do to receive this benefit?
To receive CodeRED warnings you must register your home, cell phone, or business phone number in the CodeRED database. Click Here to Sign up for CodeRED. Multiple phone numbers and addresses may be registered with one account.

What should I do if I receive a CodeRED message?
* Listen Carefully
* Follow Instructions
* Don’t hang up until you hear the whole message
* DO NOT call 9-1-1 unless instructed to do so (You will only tie up emergency lines)
