Building Department

The Building Department serves residents, developers, and business owners within the Village by:

  • Answering general questions relating to construction, inspections, permits, and other related topics
  • Providing plan review services
  • Issuing building permits
  • Providing field inspections for construction projects with active permits

The Building Department also works with certified building inspectors to:

  • Ensure that all residential and commercial construction in the Village meets or exceeds the minimum requirements of adopted codes
  • Check for compliance with State mandates, such as:
    • Building practice
    • Manufacturer equipment
    • Specific design

Applications for Contractor’s License

All contractors working in the Village of Posen are required to obtain a Contractors License. Applications can be completed in the Village Hall or downloaded below and brought into the Village Hall to obtain.
