Village of Posen on the Lead Service Line Replacement Project
Beginning the week of October 27, 2025, NPL Construction will be working in the Village of Posen on the Lead Service Line Replacement Project – Phase I. Construction of the Lead Service Line Replacement Project for the Village of Posen is financed by the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (SRF). The SRF program is administered by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and receives a portion of its money to fund these types of projects from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. This project includes abandonment of the existing lead water service lines on both the public and private side and providing new connection to the watermain with copper services and reestablishing connection to the interior of the residence or business. The area primarily served by this project will be the residential properties on the east side of the Village. Once complete, it will improve water quality for area residents and businesses in the Village of Posen by eliminating the release of harmful toxins into the water caused by lead pipes. To protect our most valuable resource—water—State Revolving Fund (SRF) programs provide communities in each state with the necessary resources to build, maintain, and improve infrastructure.
