In order to serve our residents better, The Village of Posen now accepts most Major Credit Cards and Debit Cards at the Window for Water Bill payments and Vehicle Stickers. There is a 3 % transaction fee for each transaction. This service is not available for Tow Releases.
The Village of Posen in cooperation with Cook County are giving away for free cloth Facemasks. The masks are available for pick up at the Village Hall during normal business hours Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturdays 9am-Noon. There is a limit of 2 masks per household members up to 5 members. There is just a short simple form to complete which can be downloaded below and brought into the Village hall to receive your masks. Forms are available at the window as well.
The Village of Posen has received a grant from Cook County as part of their Invest in Cook program to improve ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) accessibility Village wide. The Invest in Cook ADA Sidewalk Rehabilitation construction project is now completed. Sod was placed at these corners where grass repairs were needed. We ask the residents on the corner houses where work was performed to please water the grass so it takes. New curbs and gutters, sidewalk, and detectable warnings plates were installed at approved ADA slopes. This work was performed between Western and Harrison along 144th streets and 143rd street.
Mayor Frank Podbielniak is happy to announce that the Chicagoland Vintage Home Association has agreed to accept the Village of Posen into their Pilot Program to provide free home energy upgrades. Mayor Podbielniak met with Mary Ellen Guest, Executive Director of the Chicagoland Vintage Home Association to request that Posen be included in this very important program. Mary Ellen was more than gracious to include our community into the program. Beginning Monday November 5th, 2018 residents meeting the requirements will be eligible for assistance through the program to receive free home energy upgrades.
